Vic ICT for Women Sponsor Eltham College e-LEMON-ators in F1 in Schools™ Technology Challenge

Vic ICT for Women recently sponsored a team from Eltham College to compete in the F1 in Schools™ Technology Challenge. This challenge is world’s largest secondary school technology program which involves over nine million students from 17,000 schools in 31 nations. Each year the program engages more than 40,000 high school students in Australia and delivers industry-standard technology into schools which is made available to a further 300,000 students outside the program. The program relies on public speaking, project planning, development and management, resource procurement, industry links, graphic design and manufacturing engineering. Students learn leadership, team building, project management, business planning, public speaking, marketing, collaboration, writing and presentation skills.

The Eltham College team called the e-LEMON-ators competed in the Victorian State Finals on the 25th and 26th of November at the Deakin University Waurn Ponds Campus. The team was made up of year 8 students Jenna Fehring, Mia Taranto, Rose Whitlock-Whyte, and Leon Catt and year 7 student Ruby Kahans.
